The New York Scene - A jazz board game. © 1999
You are a young jazz musician and just got off the bus in New York city to realize your dream of becoming respected and famous for your amazing talent.
You need to gig so you traverse the city to make it to the jazz clubs. Gigs involve blind fold tests, trivia questions and “name that tunes.” As you make your way to the gigs you may have an “encounter” where you run into another musician. These encounters may help or hinder your progression and are based on known musicians’ real-life stories.
You have to be careful as you may land on a “heroin square” and have to face the realities of drug use in the former jazz culture. You risk the possibility of jail, losing your cabaret card, and other pitfalls.
With intelligence, hard work and some luck you can live and improve your standing in the music community. Moving from a JAMF (don’t know what that is? Look it up!) to a Legend!
It is a pain in the butt to make and we are currently looking for other means of production.
Email us if you would like to be notified when it becomes available or if you have a viable production idea.
